Litovel brewers brought home a silver medal from the European Beer Star competition. Their pale lager Litovel Premium was awarded in the Bohemian-Style Pale Lager category in Nuremberg, Germany and defended last year's second place.
The European Beer Star, one of the most prestigious in the world, is co-organized by the Association of Small Independent European Breweries. It is an organization whose main mission is to monitor compliance with European brewing practices and traditions. Only breweries that follow these honest methods can compete.
This year, a total of 2,480 beers from 47 countries took part in the competition. “Second place in a competition in which thousands of beers compete shows that the Haná beer holds its own in a world-wide competition, once again confirming that the use of traditional brewing methods and quality raw materials from Litovelské Pomoraví pays off,” said the Director of the Litovel brewery, Lumír Hyneček, adding: “Our Litovel Premium pale lager regularly receives awards at Czech and international tasting competitions, winning a bronze medal from the Golden Beer Seal in České Budějovice this year.”
