LITOVEL PREMIUM DARK IS THE BEST

It is a huge success for us that Litovel Premium Dark managed to beat one hundred samples from five countries in its category, and that an expert jury declared it the best dark lager in the world. Litovel Premium Dark is a beer with a fine caramel aroma acquired from roasted caramel and Bavarian malts. Its taste is characterised by a slight hop bitterness and coffee finish.

Our brewery has participated several times in the World Beer Awards competition, in which an expert jury evaluates thousands of beers from more than fifty countries every year. The prizes have been awarded since 2007 in nine main categories ranging from dark lagers to beer specialities, as well as experimental and flavoured beers. The main categories are further subdivided into individual subcategories according to taste type or, in the case of design evaluation, according to individual packaging formats such as bottles, cans, and multipacks when evaluating the design.

Beers entered in the competition are first assessed in regional groups divided according to countries of origin, from which the jury selects three medal positions and one overall winner. All absolute winners then advance to the world round, where the best beer in the entire category is selected.

Litovel Moravan was also awarded a silver medal in the light draft beer category. This double success at the prestigious world tasting competition confirms that thanks to traditional procedures, local ingredients from the Haná region, spring water from Litovelské Pomoraví and our brewers’ craftsmanship, we are able to brew an honest beer, whose unique taste is appreciated by not only our customers but also experts.

This year, our brewery was awarded twelve medals at domestic and foreign competitions. Every year, beers from the Haná region are ranked at the top of professional tasting competitions such as Czech Beer and PIVEX, and they have long belonged among the absolute pinnacle of Czech beers.
